Our Bridal Party. Starting with the ladies

Maid of Honor:

Amy Seeds

Amy is my younger sister. We are as black and white as possible. But we get along great, most of the time. She is currently a senior at University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. She’s vying for an internship with Green Peace. One of my favorite memories of Amy was staying up on Christmas Eve every year just talking until late in the night.

Bridesmaids:

Amber Adsit

Amber and I met in college. She lived across the hall from me freshman year and we were roommates sophomore year. She recently married one of our best friends from college.

Tiffany Korbe

Tiffany and I met in photography class my first semester at South. We were the only nursing students in the class. Then we struggled through our pre-reqs together. She is currently living in Orlando, but her and her boyfriend Justin are moving to New Orleans in July.

Jackie Utley

Jackie and I met in nursing school. She and her husband Jeff are expecting their second child at the end of this month.

Alison Giffoni

Alison is Matt’s youngest sister. She lives in Southern California.

Katie Young

Katie is Matt’s other sister. She lives in Texas.

And now the boys

Best Man:

Tyson Anthony

Tyson is Matt’s best friend. He was helped orchestrate the proposal. He lives in Savannah, our favorite town.

Grooms Men:

Ian Young

(That’s my FH, with facial hair, ew, his dad and Ian)

Ian is Matt’s little brother. He is going to be a senior next year and is hoping to go to West Point for college. Ian is a fabulous marks-man.

Evan Seeds

Evan is my baby brother. He just graduated from high school and will be attending Georgia Tech in the fall. That’s his lovely girlfriend Meredith.

Brian Cook

Brian is a good friend of Matt’s. They do civil war re-enacting together. Brian and his wife Christy are some of our closest friends.

Richard Duncan

Richard and Matt met in 8th grade. He is now living in Texas with his wife Danielle and their baby girl whose name escapes me at the moment.

We are still awaiting the announcement of the 6th groomsman.

We got our photos back from our engagement session yesterday. Most of them turned out great, there are just a few duds…mostly cause one of us is making a funny face.

Here’s a few of my favorites…

Photography done by Dawn of DayBreak Photography

And Matt and I had our engagement session, which I had hoped to be mostly outside. We started on the riverwalk.

I really, really wanted to spend some serious time down there. Matt and I spent tons of time walking the riverwalk when we first started dating. In fact, on our first date, we went out for bad Italian food, then to Comedy night at The Loft, and then we walked down to the Riverwalk and shared our first kiss under the railway. Today was such a nice day, but lord was it hot. We got a few shots there, and then moved to the Iron Works.

We got some awesome shots under the railway, and inside the IronWorks (with those things in the picture too). Apparently someone else was having their wedding reception in the front hall, it was all set up for a formal dinner with hideous lime and pink linens. They did have a cute memorial table set up and a nice candy buffet. But the color scheme was not my favorite.

Then we went over to Heritage Park.

The pools are really shallow, so I kicked my shoes off and got in. We had fun and played in the water while our photographer just shot away. Apparently we got about 80-90 shots.

The best part is that tomorrow, I get my photos back. On disk. To do what I so choose with. Including save the date magnets (which are also on sale at VistaPrint this week, yay!!) and our centerpieces!! I also have a gynormous frame here at the house which desperately needs a good photo for it.

Cakes

June 4, 2008

My bridesmaid/cake professional has asked for some visual assistance. Here it it:

Matt hate the stark difference of the black and white. I dislike the broaches.

Not pink… and no monogram, or broaches

I just like the swiss dots

I’m not sure about each tier being different, but Matt likes it.

wonky tiers

ew hate the cake stand and the topper, but otherwise…ok

Really really like this cake!!! except a different color

very pretty imagine it with flowers and crystal drop jewelry

this is a little busy for me.

Simple, elegant…doesn’t appear to be fondant.

minus the cherry blossoms

minus the lame topper

original cake inspiration!

I got the impression that lots of people put real icing under the fondant…so we should be good in that area.
